A new biography chronicling the life and career of former Chief Justice Gerald W. VandeWalle has been released. The book, titled “Call me Jerry,” highlights VandeWalle’s more than six decades of service to North Dakota, including 20 years in the Attorney General’s office and 41 years as a Justice on the North Dakota Supreme Court. He served as Chief Justice for 26 of those years.

The biography will be formally introduced at a book release event scheduled for February 2, 2026, at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck. The program will begin at 4:30 p.m., followed by a reception. Attendees can receive one Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for participating in the event.

“Call me Jerry” aims to provide insight into VandeWalle’s contributions to the state’s legal system and his long-standing commitment to public service.
