Bonnie Jeanne Kretchman, age 64, of Wahpeton, North Dakota, passed away at home surrounded by her family on March 2.
Kretchman’s life was marked by her commitment to her family and her work in the legal field. She served as the Richland County Clerk of Courts after a long career as a legal administrative assistant and court recorder. Her dedication extended beyond her professional life, as she was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton and enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren in their activities.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, March 5 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton at 6:30 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Greg Haman officiating. There will be no visitation before either service.
Kretchman was born on July 28, 1961, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and grew up in both Rothsay, Minnesota and Gwinner, North Dakota. She graduated from North Sargent High School in 1979 before earning a degree from NDSCS in the legal administrator assistant program. She married Curt Kretchman in Forman, North Dakota in 1984 and lived in several communities throughout the region before settling in Wahpeton.
She is survived by her husband Curt; children Camden (Amie) Kretchman, Blake Kretchman, Alison (Walker) Busse; grandchildren Nora and Nolan Busse and Emberlee Kretchman; siblings Sharon Maddock, Linda Bettin, Allen Keller, Dawn Johnson, Gary Keller, Jane Tweed, Ann Foner; mother-in-law Arlene Kretchman; brothers-in-law Larry Kretchman and Craig Kretchman; as well as many nieces and nephews.
