A group of court staff delivered a presentation titled “Passport to Justice: Traveling through and navigating the judicial system from the perspective of the clerk’s office, schedulers, recorders and staff attorneys” at the Ronald Davies Inns of Court in Fargo on February 12, 2026. The event aimed to give practicing attorneys greater understanding of court procedures from the viewpoint of court employees.

The presenters included Jordan Bjerken and Kristen Erickson, both court recorders; Vanessa Lystad, staff attorney; Claire Paulson, deputy clerk for the intake team; Jennifer Swenson, deputy clerk for the detail team; Judge Stephannie Stiel; Judge Stephanie Hayden; Brittany Leadbetter, clerk of court; and Lindsey Beto, deputy clerk for the scheduling team.

According to organizers, the session was intended to clarify how different parts of the judicial process function behind the scenes.
