The North Dakota Ethics Commission announced on Apr. 28 that it will hold an educational webinar for those interested in learning about the commission’s complaint process. The event, titled “Dakota Dilemmas: Navigating the Complaint Process (Extended Cut),” is scheduled for May 5 from noon to 1:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time.

The upcoming session aims to inform participants about recent changes made by the North Dakota Legislative Assembly in 2025 regarding how complaints are handled by the Ethics Commission. The commission said these amendments have added new steps, changed terminology, and updated confidentiality rules affecting respondents.

According to the announcement, the presentation will provide a detailed explanation of these legislative updates and outline how the commission has revised its internal rules as a result. The goal is to make the complaint process clearer and more consistent for all parties involved.

The webinar has been approved for one hour of North Dakota Continuing Legal Education credit, which can be applied toward either general or ethics requirements. Those interested in attending can register through a provided link or visit the Ethics Commission’s website at ethicscommission.nd.gov for more information.

This event reflects ongoing efforts by state officials to increase transparency and understanding around government processes related to ethics complaints.
