Harvey High School students, accompanied by their teacher David Rask, visited the North Dakota Supreme Court on February 5. During their visit, the students attended live oral arguments and participated in a question-and-answer session with Justice Douglas Bahr and attorneys Tiffany M. Sorgen and Eric P. Baumann.

The panel addressed topics such as the path to becoming an attorney, the process for judges and justices to attain office, the function of the state supreme court, and how attorneys prepare for cases before the court.

This marks the third consecutive year that David Rask has organized this educational trip for his students to observe live arguments at the court. Before departing, each student received a copy of “Living in an Adult World,” a publication supported by the State Bar Association of North Dakota and its Law Related Education Committee.

“Justice Bahr and attorneys David Rask and Tiffany Sorgen discuss the justice system with Harvey High School students,” according to information provided by organizers.
