Northeast Central Judicial District Judge Theodore Sandberg visited teacher Lisa Strand’s senior POD classroom in Thompson on April 1. During his visit, he spoke to three sections of students about his career and experiences as a judge.

The visit gave students an opportunity to learn firsthand about the judiciary and what it takes to become a judge. Judge Sandberg discussed his path to the bench, having been appointed in 2024, and answered questions from the students regarding his work and responsibilities.

Sandberg also shared various stories from his time serving as a judge, providing insight into the daily life of someone working within the judicial system. The interaction allowed students to engage directly with a member of the judiciary, helping them better understand how courts function.

Such educational visits are seen as important for fostering civic awareness among high school students. By meeting with legal professionals like Judge Sandberg, students can gain valuable perspectives on careers in law and public service.
