Marvin Lee Kaiser died on March 21, according to an announcement released on March 30. Kaiser was known as a lawyer, businessman, and philanthropist with strong ties to North Dakota and Arizona.

Kaiser’s death marks the passing of a figure whose career spanned law, business, and philanthropy. He was recognized for his tough approach in both business and legal matters but also had a passion for the American West.

Born in Fargo to Leopold and Selina Kaiser on March 15, 1943, he graduated from Central High School in Fargo in 1961. He continued his education at the University of North Dakota where he earned a Bachelor of Business Degree in 1964 and a Master of Science Degree in Accounting in 1966. In 1969, he completed his law degree at the University of North Dakota School of Law.
