The North Dakota Juvenile Court announced on Apr. 23 a job opening for a part-time Youth Coordinator position in Jamestown, offering an hourly wage of $18.56.

The role is intended to support youth and their families during their involvement with the Juvenile Court system, aiming to help them navigate court processes and access services. The position requires approximately 20 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours as well as some weekday shifts.

According to the announcement, candidates must have a high school diploma, with work experience involving youth preferred. The ideal candidate should be able to maintain confidentiality, follow established rules, build rapport with others courteously and cooperatively, and possess strong interpersonal skills for working effectively with both youth and families.

Responsibilities include assisting youths in accessing transportation for court-related activities, helping them seek employment or educational opportunities such as college applications or GED programs, mentoring positive social behaviors and healthy relationships, connecting families with culturally relevant services, bridging communication between the court system and involved youths, documenting activities in the case management system, reporting any suspected neglect or abuse as required by law, conducting drug testing when requested by court officers, performing curfew checks either by phone or in person upon request from juvenile court officers, participating in group outings or special projects with participants when needed,
and attending staff meetings or court sessions as necessary.
