The North Dakota Court System announced on April 29 a job opening for a part-time, temporary Case Aide position in the Richland County Treatment Court, located in Wahpeton. The role offers an hourly wage of $18.56 and requires five hours of work per week with flexible evening and weekend hours.
This position is significant as it supports the Adult Treatment Court Program by conducting drug testing and surveillance for participants. Due to the nature of urinalysis testing performed on male participants, only male applicants are eligible for this role.
According to the announcement, “Due to the job requirement of urinalysis testing conducted on males in the Adult Treatment Court Program, this position must be filled by a male applicant.” The selected candidate will schedule and meet with program participants and coordinators, conduct alcohol sensor and urinalysis tests randomly, perform curfew checks by phone or in person when requested, assist with electronic monitoring devices, complete required paperwork, report neglect or abuse as mandated by law, and perform other related duties.
Applicants must have at least a high school diploma and possess a valid driver’s license or demonstrate equivalent mobility. The ideal candidate should keep information confidential, follow established rules strictly, understand instructions easily, relay them effectively to others, and interact well with people at all levels.
Physical requirements include grasping objects; sitting; standing; walking; talking; hearing; seeing; feeling; reaching; fingering activities; traveling as needed (with control over travel schedules); exposure to biological hazards during drug testing procedures; and lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally.
