The Federal Practice Committee for the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota announced on Apr. 27 that it is inviting all North Dakota students in grades six through twelve to participate in an essay contest marking America’s 250th birthday and reflecting on the importance of the nation’s federal court system.

The contest aims to encourage students to learn more about American history, develop an interest in how the federal court system operates, and express their perspectives on these topics. Organizers say this initiative provides a chance for young people to engage civically while being recognized within their communities.

Participants will have an opportunity to win a $250 prize, along with public recognition. The contest is coordinated by the Civic Engagement Subcommittee of the Federal Practice Committee.

Further details about submission guidelines and deadlines are available in a flyer attached by organizers.
