The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota has announced a job opening for the position of Case Administrator I, based in Bismarck. The court is seeking applicants with at least a two-year college degree, though a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Relevant experience in legal or court settings may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
The role involves processing and reviewing legal documents submitted to the Clerk’s Office, ensuring compliance with court requirements and maintaining official records in both civil and criminal cases. The Case Administrator I will use the Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system to perform docketing functions and manage electronic records. Additional responsibilities include issuing summonses, warrants, subpoenas, providing information to the public and attorneys about case status, handling cash receipts, preparing deposits, and processing appeals.
Applicants must demonstrate attention to detail, data entry skills, proficiency with word processing and PDF applications, and effective communication abilities. The position also requires teamwork and flexibility in performing various tasks as needed.
The starting salary range is $44,701 to $72,654 per year. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and previous experience. The position offers promotion potential up to Case Administrator II or III depending on merit and performance but does not confer Civil Service tenure rights.
